Our newly Decorated Bathroom

It has been a long process of trying to make up our minds and agree on something we both like. And after painting it twice and running all around town for the crafty projects. It is finally done and it doesn't look too bad. We already had the Gold curtain and the potted plant. And the paintings is something that I have been wanting to try myself. Its just canvas, old paint and a nice stencil that matches the gold curtain (though you can't tell in the picutres). Enjoy and happy decorating.

Snowboarding, Skiing, and Sledding in Colorado

So David, Lilly and I took a fun family vacation to Colorado to snowboard, ski, and sled. David has been dying to go somewhere and hit the slopes so we went with his brother and sister-n-law. It was great because we got to hang out with their family and have fun in the snow. Lilly enjoyed her first real experience with snow and handled it like a champ. Although we didn't find ski boots in her size she still had fun sledding on a snowboard with David. And she looked so cute in her snow suit. It also so happened that we were on the same slopes as David's Grandfather Bell when we did ski training for the army. Enjoy the pictures.

Potty time

Here is my marathon of blogging. Lilly has been using the potty since Jan 1st and she is doing great. We did the sticker chart for a couple of weeks and she lost interest on her own. She has here good days and bad days but that is expected. She is great with number one if you remind her. As for number two you have to watch her like a hawk to catch her right before she goes and race to the bathroom. Otherwise while your back is turned she will go in her underwear. I know she needs time to get the hang of number two.

Go Carting, gobbling, gaming, and gifting

After Christmas with Mom and Dad we flew out to PA to spend New Years with David's parents and siblings. On Monday we all went go cart racing. This was by far the coolest place. Its not your typical go cart, this was grand prix go cart racing. The go carts could reach a top speed of 45mph! The tires were squeelling and the flags were flying- it was so much fun.
When you're staying with the Mains you will never go hungry. As always there was a ton of food and desserets and goodies everywhere. In addition to good fun they enjoy playing games. One of the nights we sat down to play some scrabble (a Mains favorite). At one point in the game Dad Mains realized that we where playing with two bags of scrabble tiles. Becuase we had several x's, z's, q's etc. I gave up at one point because I had all vowels except for two consants and I kept drawing vowel after vowel. It was fun none the less. One of the days was devoted to shopping for the gals and doing work in the basement for the guys (but we gals did do our fair share of work the other days). We hit some really good sales at the outlet stores and I bought a couple of things. Lilly had fun playing with all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Christmas happenings and fun

Mom and Dad got here late Sunday night. After a delay in their flight and me temporarily getting lost and getting at our house at midnight they were ready for bed. Monday we got to take mom and dad to go horse back riding. Foruntanetly someone from our ward offereded his horses to us if we wanted to go. And even though it was 30 degrees we had a good time. But silly me I forgot my camera so you'll have to ask mom for pictures (by the way mom I need a copy of those pictures). Tuesday and Wednesday where shopping days as we went back and forth to several shops braveing the traffic to find those last minute gifts. Thursday was very relaxing and great as we had our traditional Nelson big Christmas morning breakfast and then read from Luke 2. Friday we hung out and lounged at the house and got ready for all of us to go to the airport early the next morning.

So for those of you who want to know which I don't who that is) Since it was our first Christmas in our new home I wanted to do something special for our tree something I hadn't bothered while we were in apartments - you know space and everyting. I have always wanted a old fashioned homemade country looking tree. However it is really hard to find those kind of decorations in the stores and even if I did I probably wouldn't pay the outrageous price. So I made all of my Christmas tree decorations. Even though it took two weeks I was really excited and dedicated to getting it done. It was really pretty easy. I just drew a pattern on a file folder, then traced on the fabric and sewed. The thing that took the longest were the stars where I did a decorative stitch on the outer perimeter. For the red balls I bought some cheap glitter balls at hobby lobby (love that store) made a square and tied it at the top with some jute. Somehow I think it looked better in real life than in picutres.
